1)The Lead King Loop trail run (12.5 K or 25K) near Marble, CO on Sept. 20, (http://www.leadkingloop25k.com/)
2)The Other Half Marathon in Moab, Utah on Oct. 18 (http://www.moabhalfmarathon.org/other/other_half.html)
3)The new Rim Rock Marathon in Grand Junction, CO, over the Colorado National Monument on Nov 14 (http://www.ascentproductions.net/id63.html)
Solemates is the charity leg of Girls on the Run. We are a team of adult athletes, male and female, who pursue training for a race while raising money for Girls on the Run of Western Colorado. In return for raising the $262.00 minimum, athletes receive training plans and advice from local expert coaches, group workouts in some areas, free entrance into the 2009 Harbert Lumber 5K (November 7th at Canyon View Park), a technical shirt to run in, goodies from great sponsors, like New Balance and Goody hair products, and the knowledge that their training is inspiring young girls to a lifetime of healthy living.
In 2008, 45 runners and triathletes trained hard, completed the Highline Hustle or the Other Half Half Marathon, and raised more than $19,000 dollars to help young girls in Western Colorado to be the best they can be. Join our local Solemates. It will change your life and change the lives of hundreds of local girls.
For more information about Solemates, and group runs in your area, contact Solemates director Kathaleen Recker - kathaleen@girlsontherungv.com or 970.812.5452.
Girls on the Run provides our programming to girls in 3rd – 8th grade throughout Western Colorado, for a minimal fee.Additionally, scholarships are offered to anyone who needs one.The fundraising success of our Solemates program helps to insure that this empowering opportunity continues to be available to all girls.

Our 2007 Team Tiara, 43 runners strong, trained hard and completed races from San Francisco to New York. About 35 members of our team ran in Moab, Utah. Collectively we raised $16,000 dollars to help empower young girls in Western Colorado. As a team we accomplished so much and still, we had a ball! Highlights included: training runs with Coach Kathaleen and Coach Leanne where we were able to chat—and sweat—with old and new friends; our pre-race dinner and tiara decorating party where team members Katharina and Joanne played a big role; Laura, our Denver team-mate, completing the Chicago Marathon amongst excruciating record breaking heat; the finish line at The Other Half Marathon in Moab where EVERYONE pushed through and completed that tough course; and most enjoyable of all, being surrounded by amazing, talented women gallivanting around in public wearing TIARAS.
