Welcome to Girls on the Run of the Grand Valley -- a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 5th grade. Our mission is "to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living." Our programs are offered in communities throughout Western Colorado.
Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships and physical training -- all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.
Girls on the Run of the Grand Valley is an Affiliate/Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 160 locations across the United States and Canada.

Prize bags will be mailed or delivered to the top three in each age group in the next month.
We do apologize to those of you who were misdirected. We appreciate your understanding, and are already planning improvements for next year.
Thanks to the 700+ people who ran the race, and the 40+ volunteers who made it possible. It was a beautiful day, with an incredible turnout. Girls on the Run truly appreciates the support of coaches, parents, girls, sponsors and our community members - all of whom made this race, and our fall program successful. Mark your calendar for the 10th Annual Harbert Lumber Fall 5K on Saturday, November 7th, 2009.
